Just 5 days left to launch
Hi all, Sean has moved the launch date to October 10th and there’s less than 5 days left to the launch! Keep checking back for my review of Commission Commando.
Viral marketing commission commando
Viral marketing is as viral as the concept it describes these days. Every marketing conference includes a talk on viral marketing and how you can leverage the internet to achieve sales on a grand scale (or make you a commission commando if you are an affiliate). If you haven’t heard of it yet, viral marketing is basically when an advertiser creates an advertisement that forwards itself to more and more people, i.e., every person who receives the advertisement will then forward it to more than one other person. Given that we all check our email all the time, a successful viral marketing campaign that makes you a commission commando can make its way around the world very quickly, in fact it’s possible within a single day.
But what exactly makes a viral marketing campaign successful and how does one successfully leverage the power of the internet. The key to success in viral marketing is actually rather simple and you can probably guess what it is. We have all received emails from friends saying, “Hey, you really have to check out this video” with a link to a short video that makes us laugh and then want to share it with others. We then either forward the email to another bunch of friends or call over our colleagues from next door to watch it as well. This is basically what you want people to do in order to spread the word about whatever it is you are advertising and if you can get them to do it then your viral marketing campaign will be a success. All you really need is for each person who receives your advertisement to send it to at least one other person so you achieve an average of >1 new viewer per viewer.
To take these numbers to a larger scale, say you send out a funny short email about a current event that gets people interested. Your initial mailing list includes 1,000 subscribers. Say that on average they each send it to 1.2 other people. What that means is that some of them will send it to 20 people, others to just 2, and many will not send it out at all, but overall the average will be 1.2. So then you have the initial 1,000 people who received your email plus another 1,200 who they forwarded it to. Assuming these 1,200 also forward it to 1.2 people on average, that will get you another 1,440 people totaling 3,640. If this process continues, it will keep growing until geographic or demographic limits kick in.
Another example of a successful viral message are the message you get in your email or Facebook that say “Send this message to another 10 people who are not already on the list below or you’ll have bad luck for the next 5 years”. Lots of people, fearing bad luck, actually then do forward the message to 10 people and I’m sure you have received messages like these in the past. I remember having read a ton of them until spam filters started absorbing them.
More examples of viral marketing campaigns that you have probably seen in action are the Superbowl commercials. Firstly, there is a huge audience during the Superbowl but if a commercial is really funny, people tend to go straight to You Tube to watch it again and again. Then there will be conversation at work or in school about that funny commercial making more and more people go to You Tube to watch it. So in essence Superbowl commercials have a viral marketing side to them allowing advertisers to pay for a set amount of viewers and in the end get millions more.
Now that the concept is clear in your mind, or I hope it’s at least clearer, think about leveraging this technique as an affiliate marketer. If you can make people talk about your product that carries your product link then in just hours you could make you a commission commando. From experience I can tell you many people interpret this as becoming a spammer but that’s not the concept here. You can make a funny video that people pick up on You Tube by themselves and spread the word around. That’s not spamming. You don’t have to send 1,000,000 random emails to be a successful viral marketer and in fact modern spam filters prevent you from doing that anyway.
To conclude, viral marketing combined with on-page search engine optimization and off-page search engine optimization can greatly improve your yield as an affiliate marketer and lead you to becoming a commission commando.

Be a Commission Commando with SEO and Affiliate marketing
Now let me give you a brief overview of what this product is generally about. Have you heard of affiliate marketing and search engine optimization? Let me take one thing at a time and start with affiliate marketing.
Products sold on the internet need advertising like products sold anywhere else. Whether it’s on TV, on the radio, or in newspapers or magazines, anywhere you look there are advertisements for products you can buy. Now what’s unique about the internet is the ability to track how a customer buys your product. For example, if you visit one website and click on a link to get to the next then information from the first website is carried in your browser to the next site. What’s key about this is that this data can be analyzed and used a proof for how a product was sold.
Consider this example:
You’re reading a magazine and see an advertisement for a watch that you like. So you decide to go see it in a shop and buy it. The fact that you bought it because of the magazine advertisement does not make it through to the sales point. On the internet however, this information would make it through. And because of this affiliate marketing has flourished.
An affiliate is an advertiser of a product who receives a commission for each sale actually made. Affiliates create websites, send emails, and do whatever else it takes to sell the product they are advertising. Some of the best affiliates on the internet are pulling in more than a million dollars per year and it’s quite common to meet some who make over $10,000/month, those really are results of a commission commando!
Now how does search engine optimization (SEO) come into play? Well, affiliates need to get as many people as they can to see their online advertisements of products. Online advertisements are typically websites designed to advertise a specific product. So affiliates want as much internet traffic as possible to go through their websites. But there are millions if not billions of websites out there, how and why would huge traffic go through their advertisements?
This is where search engine optimizations do their magic. You see, the internet is not a cloud of information operated by humans, it’s actually operated by computers and populated by humans. So if the computer thinks something is really important on the internet then it becomes important. Search engines determine what is important on the internet by matching search queries to a ranked list of pages. If you search for “google shadow” then you would want pages on “google shadow” to show up in your results list and you would also want the best ones to show on top.
To put it simply, search engine optimizations can make websites seem more important to the thousands of computers search engines have crawling the internet figuring out what’s important. The most skilled affiliates can create websites on pretty much any topic that search engines will consider important and have them appear as the first few pages in their search results. That’s it, that’s the trick to free traffic!
If only it was that easy. The truth is that search engine optimization has been evolving mainly because more and more people have been leveraging its powers. If everyone is using the same techniques as everyone else, then the effect is neutralized. Another reason search engine optimization has evolved is because search engines are getting smarter as well. They read the same guides that we can read about search engine optimizations and they go through a lot of trouble to make sure no one can “rig” or “game” their results.
Staying ahead of the game in affiliate marketing and making commissions is becoming harder due to the evolving nature of search engines and what it takes to acheive search engine optimization. Commission Commando is a new tool that can help you stay ahead of the game but it can only give you an edge if you get it now.
How to become a Commission Commando using your websites
The success of any affiliate really depends on two factors:
- Incoming traffic volume
- Percentage of traffic converted into sales
The first, incoming traffic volume can be increased using a number of methods including search engine optimization, link-building, leveraging social media, and even using traditional print methods. Use any method you have to get the word out and drive people to your site.
The second, percentage of traffic converted into sales, is affected by mainly two variables:
- The look, flow, and content of your site
- The type of traffic that your are getting
The first of these two is entirely in your hands. Make sure your site looks good, provides valuable information to the reader and has sufficient links to whatever it is your selling.
The second is a fine point that can have a major impact on your results. Anyone on the internet is search traffic. More traffic does not always mean more sales. More traffic from people who are looking to buy something like what you are selling will increase your sales. So the type of traffic to your site is extremely critical to your success.
Making your site receive more traffic from people who may actually buy your product and providing valuable material on your site to make the sale will make you a commission commando. And high commissions on the scale of the internet can mean real big money for you.
From time to time there are guides created by experts in search engine optimization and other tenchniques that explain to drive traffic to sites or make sites more effective. These are great tools to get you started by their effectiveness diminishes with time so you need to make sure you get on the band-wagon first and get the most out of tools like Commission Commando.
What is Commission Commando?
Well, as the product is still in pre-launch mode, we don’t actually know much about it yet. Given Sean’s prior work and reputation, I expect it to be a new interesting approach to say the least.
What we have heard is that it is going to focus strongly on pulling in traffic from social media as opposed to being focused on internet surfing traffic, i.e., Google. But stay tuned, I’ll have more information for you as I get my hands on my review material and the actual guide itself.
Who is the creator of Commission Commando, Sean Donahoe?
Sean Donahoe is a well-known online marketing expert who has published a number of guides on this topic in the past. Some of his earlier works include Twitter Commando, Firestorm SEO, and Extreme Niche Empires.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sean’s approach, he generally develops techniques that capture traffic from online sources. And I say online sources so generally because he has developed techniques to capture traffic from not only Google but also Twitter. When you’re selling online, more traffic is more money and Sean’s approaches typically focus on getting traffic at no cost by making content more appealing.
That said, I am personally excited for his new product, Commission Commando, but having been in the business a while now I am really curious to see what new he has to offer.
Commission Commando on its way…
Hi, I’m Michael. I’m an online marketer and -believe me- I’ve read almost every guide and used every tool there is to help in online marketing. I am a big fan of Sean’s and share everyone’s excitement for his this new product, though I can assure you I’m a tough critic when it comes to online marketing guides.
The product is launching on Monday, October 3rd and this is just the first of many posts to follow leading up to that date. Keep checking back for more news on Sean Donahoe’s latest product, Commission Commando. Close to the date of the product launch I will be posting a comprehensive review I have been working on.
